Cactoons

This game was made for the Social Games course in B.Sc. Informatics: Games Engineering at TUM

Cactoons is an exploration game where you collect, grow, and discover unique cacti across the world.

Walk around the real world, find seeds, grow new Cactoons, and expand your collection. Every Cactoon has its own appearance, rarity, and traits, making each discovery feel unique. Some are common, some are weird, and some are so rare that you might be the first person to find one. Through the Grafting Mechanic you can also mix and match the traits of your Cactoons to create entirely new ones!

The game combines cacti collecting, exploration, and location-based gameplay into a relaxed cozy experience that rewards curiosity. Take care of your Cactoons, for example fertilizing them to make them grow faster or even play them music to let them mutate into something rarer!

You can form a club with your friends and trade your pretty Cactoons for cold hard cash!

Our goal with Cactoons is simple: give people a reason to go outside, grow their unique collection and share it with others. 

Start your collection, grow a garden with your friends or make a pretty penny on the market! Just like you can grow your own unique Cactoons, you can choose your own playstyle as well!
